about this journal
This journal was kept by Lauren Kent while participating in the NYLine, an organized charity line-a-thon at NYC's Ziegfeld Theatre for Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. Over the eighteen days of the line, its 240 staff and participants raised over $18,500 for the Starlight Children's Foundation through the generous donations of friends, family, and passersby at the line site.
about the author
Lauren is a 20 year old junior at NYU. She was present for 230 hours during fifteen of the line's eighteen days (and was so sick she couldn't leave home the other three), earning 735 points, the fifth-highest total at the end of the line.

So I get here, and the first thing anyone says to me is Byron warning me not to go near the tent because James took his socks off.
And the overnight has begun.
And, I mean, I'd feel bad for laughing at him, but I don't. He's been creeping me out for almost a week, and, I mean, yuck.
Eleven people.
And I'm whoring myself tonight.
[Lauren covering her ass, here: it turned out that the stink in the tent was due to a multitude of factors, not just the socks. I chose not to take this part out because, I'm sorry, it was fucking hilarious at the time.]

Dude in a Sanitation Dept car drives up.
No explanation necessary.

Oh, the ridicule I endure to blow (up) Maul (the chair) so I can sleep with (on) him.
Fourteen people, I think? Although Byron's in his car, and Ben left for somewhere (not sure where). Aside from the odor crisis (which, it would seem, is an ongoing problem), it's been a pretty uneventful night. Rob went to bed early, and the rest of the Saturday night crew is MIA, so things have mellowed significantly.
Why does everyone slow down when they drive past us? Even the hooker did it this time. WTF?
Tired. Bleh.

Stinky Foot Boy has departed. My chair is freed. Hurrah!
So Vic, Ed, and Vincent are doing a thorough cleaning, which is v. v. good.
Fourteen people right now. Not bad for 9am on a workday.

Now we've got a Today Show crew here, filming apparently to air tomorrow. They're super not real friendly and we had no clue who they were with until Byron stopped by and recognized them.
And now Juan is talking out of his ass about the Times pseudo-review. Because he's dumb.

So Zippy organized for a crew from CNN to come and do a Star Wars for Dummies segment, and you know who's one of the two people being interviewed for it?
Juan.
Fucking Juan.
Juan who danced around snarkily for four days when only he and Byron had seen AOTC, then snuck into the theatre for both press screenings and hid on the can between showings.
WTF?

Ben gets back from breakfast, sees Juan, and says, "Media slut's back at it?"

Yeah, and Byron stopped at FAO and got a Yoda and two Royal Guards. Because he rocks.

I think I may have to revert to being pissy feminist girl. Now there's a crew from Oxygen here interviewing, um, eight guys. Never mind the fact that they noticed they had no women. I'm fucking sick of getting stereotyped out of the fandom because I have ovaries - women are fucking 40% of the fan base, yet we rarely get screen time.
And isn't Oxygen supposed to be women's media?

Barbie and Shopping Shbag are still whoring themselves. On the bright side, we're getting pizza (again) and Germain is back. Hee.

Somehow I get the feeling that tonight so going to be a banner night for my inner bitch. Been here ten minutes and am already considering making a list of people whom it would be excusable to ignore.
At least it's nice out.
Thirty-three fucking people here! You'd think it was a Friday night or something.

Jaime just stopped for five minutes, then left to pack (wuss). I had Thai food with Cullen, which was highly entertaining - especially the part where he said I wasn't a feminist (?!). He also commented (negatively-ish) on the fact that my femaleness seems to make me free game in the eyes of most of the guys here - he basically said the opposite of every random thought I've had in the past few days.
Have, however, noticed that I've gotten checked out (not stared at) by an unusually large number of guys tonight. Huh?
At any rate, tonight should be interesting. Haha.
