about this journal
This journal was kept by Lauren Kent while participating in the NYLine, an organized charity line-a-thon at NYC's Ziegfeld Theatre for Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. Over the eighteen days of the line, its 240 staff and participants raised over $18,500 for the Starlight Children's Foundation through the generous donations of friends, family, and passersby at the line site.

about the author
Lauren is a 20 year old junior at NYU. She was present for 230 hours during fifteen of the line's eighteen days (and was so sick she couldn't leave home the other three), earning 735 points, the fifth-highest total at the end of the line.

Gonna make another run home for my diadem, lipliner, and white lipstick. That's as much as Conan's getting from me two hours before an exam.

Media Whore Lauren. That's me!

Hey, maybe I'll study now. Good idea, ne?

1.54am
Zieg

Yeah, because when I said 'study', I really did mean 'run around and cover everything with tarps before it rains'.

Oy.

Zieg

Falling asleep.

So gonna bomb.

Zieg

Yeah, too bad I slept two hours longer than I'd planned. I now have five whole hours to relearn functions and arrays.

I'm so screwed.

I do believe this is the shittiest shift I've done thus far. It's been raining since 3 or 4am, on and off. We were almost all asleep, so all but two of the blankets got drenched; Michele and Byron took them to a laundromat on 8th Ave to dry them out. The canopy's closed off on all sides now, either with plastic or tarps. We somehow acquired a long green tarp, which is sloping off the east side to provide some extra space. Not sure if Conan's people have come yet or not; there was a guy here with a camera a little while ago, but he didn't film very much. Ben ordered a pizza, I'm gonna bomb my exam, and in three hours, I'll be free.
